Dental Implants in Bluffdale, UT

Often considered the ideal standard in tooth replacement, dental implants are permanent posts placed into your jawbone and topped with custom crowns to replicate natural teeth. Whether you’re missing one tooth or many, implants restore not just your bite but your quality of life.

Losing a tooth doesn’t have to mean losing your smile. Dental implants offer a secure, long-lasting way to replace missing teeth and restore comfort and confidence in everyday life.

Here at Bluffdale Dental, we offer single, partial and whole-mouth dental implants to meet all your restoration needs. We also provide implant-retained dentures.

01.

The Dental Implant Process

The dental implant process kicks off with a thorough evaluation and treatment planning. During your consultation, we’ll determine your needs and whether dental implants are your best restorative option.

If moving forward, a small titanium post is surgically placed into the jawbone to act as a replacement tooth root. This is repeated if multiple implants are needed. Over several months, the implant integrates with the bone in osseointegration and heals.

Next Steps After an Implant Is Placed

Once healed, an abutment and custom crown or other restoration are attached, restoring function and appearance of your tooth or teeth.

Throughout your follow-up visits, we will ensure that your implant looks and functions correctly. Due to wear and damage, your crown may require repair or replacement over time.

FAQ

  • Am I a good candidate for dental implants?

In most cases, you are a good candidate for dental implants if you have:

    • A missing tooth or multiple missing teeth.
    • Healthy gums without signs of gum disease.
    • Good overall health for optimal healing.

We will help determine whether dental implants suit your needs during your consultation.

  • How long do dental implants last?

Dental implants often last 15 years to a lifetime with proper care. Their durability depends on oral hygiene, lifestyle habits and regular dental visits. The implant is highly durable, but the crown may need to be replaced over time. With good maintenance, dental implants can last for years and years.

  • What are dental implants made of?

Dental implants are primarily made of titanium, a biocompatible metal known for its strength and ability to fuse with bone through a process called osseointegration. Some implants may also use zirconia, a ceramic alternative for patients seeking metal-free options. Both materials are durable, safe and designed to support long-lasting, natural-looking tooth replacements like crowns, bridges or dentures.
